This is Not Your Story | Savi Sharma | Book Review

SAVI SHARMA

Indian novelist Savi Sharma is a writer. Everyone Has a Story: An Inspiring Tale of Dreams, Friendship, Hope, Love, and Life, which she wrote, is one of the most popular books ever. In addition, she is a co-founder of the inspirational media blog "Life & People," where she discusses positivism, meditation, the law of attraction, and spirituality.

Savi Sharma began studying Chartered Accounting and enrolled in a Surat university's Bachelor of Commerce programme after graduating from high school. Once her book Everyone Has a Story won her over, she made the decision to discontinue her studies. Sharma is the first successful female self-published author from India. She self-published it, and it went on to become a hit.

"This Is Not Your Story" by Savi Sharma tells the story of four young people named Shaurya, Miraya, Anubhav, and Kasturi. Their hardships and lives are at the centre of the narrative.

What is this book is all about?

“This is Not Your Story” is the tale of 4 youngsters – Shaurya, Miraya, Anubhav and Kasturi.
Shaurya is a man who aspires to pursue his dream job but is coerced by his parents into becoming a certified accountant. Shaurya is disoriented and unsure as to which dream his parents have for him and which are his own.
Miraya is a gifted interior designer who has had a terrible relationship. Miraya, feeling betrayed and depressed, finds comfort in Kasturi's presence.
Anubhav is an entrepreneur who has everything he could ever want, but he still lacks the drive to live. In Miraya's calming words, he discovers serenity and happiness while seeking the purpose of life.
Ambitious MBA Kasturi cares deeply about her friends and will stop at nothing to ensure their safety.

The plot and the characters

The narrative of the book follows the experiences of these four people as they face challenges and succeed in life.

The plot advances at a steady pace and is generally decent. Although there isn't a lot of action in the novel, the drama succeeds in keeping the reader engaged.
The cast of characters is diverse.
Miraya was a great character, but Anubhav and Shaurya were just too depressed and pessimistic for my liking.  Although Kasturi was a likeable character, she was not given a significant part to perform.

Writing style

I liked the writing style of the author as always.

The three segments of "This is Not Your Story" are titled "Four Years Ago," "Today," and "Three Years Later."
Three voices—Anubhav, Shaurya, and Miraya's Diary—tell the tale.
The characters who alternately share their stories are given chapter names.

Savi Sharma's writing is beautiful because she can put sentiments and emotions into words. After reading the book, I was obliged to highlight and reread a few of the book's great phrases.

The book has just over 200 pages and can be finished in three hours. The book is really easy to read because the language has been kept basic.

About the climax

The climax is average and predictable. Although I had hoped for more excitement, I can't really gripe about it. What was most important to me was that I enjoyed reading the book overall.

Final verdict

The book had a decent amount of entertainment value, thus I gave "This is Not Your Story" four out of five stars in this category.

I'll wrap up this book by advising anybody searching for a quick read to pick it up. Ultimately, the book will serve as an inspirational read for anyone who choose to read it.
